The Leominster People Project
Leominster Museum is celebrating the lives of those who have lived in Leominster, and have made an impact on the world, either locally, nationally or internationally. Some were historic figures, living centuries ago, others lived in the 20th century, and are still very much alive.
Within the Museum we had a ‘wall of fame’, and a book giving more details about their lives. Thanks to funding from Historic England, through the Leominster Cultural Consortium, we commissioned eight banners featuring ‘Leominster People’ which were displayed proudly in Corn Square and Broad Street to publicise the exhibition.
Because of the popularity of the exhibition, the Museum applied for further funding from Historic England, through the Leominster Cultural Consortium, to create eight more banners of people nominated by the community and to create a version of the exhibition online so that everyone could learn about the remarkable people of Leominster.
If you have any memories or stories about any of our Leominster People that you’d like to share, you can email them to us and we’ll add them to the relevant page.
