Richard has lived in Leominster since 1974. Over three years ago he noticed how overgrown communal areas have become and decided to do something about it. His first project was outside Cursneh House, where he said it was more like a field than a path. Richard’s work has grown from there and he can often be seen around the town clearing litter, even on his knees removing weeds from lots of areas in Leominster. As well as his work keeping paths free for several years he can often be seen wandering the streets, armed with a broom and a dustpan, picking up litter and sweeping away dirt. Richard also planted and grew sunflowers to brighten up communal areas.
The people of Leominster have taken Richard to their hearts. A recent JustGiving appeal was set up to support him in his endeavours, which will enable Richard to fund items that will aid him in his seemingly never ending but not thankless task. Richard would really like others to assist him in his dedication to keeping the town clean and tidy.
Richard’s commitment to keeping Leominster clean is unwavering. He doesn’t do it for money or fame — he simply loves the town and wants to make it a better place for everyone. He’s also a bit of a perfectionist, and he can’t stand to see a speck of dirt out of place!
Richard’s eccentricities add to his charm. He’s often seen with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face as he cleans. He’s a popular figure in Leominster, and everyone knows him and loves him. He’s a true community hero, and his dedication to keeping the town clean is appreciated by all.
