Phillipa Yarranton, 2003–Present
International Netball Player
Phillipa started playing netball at Wigmore Primary School in Leominster over ten years ago. After graduating from Cardiff Met with a degree in sport, she is now Netball Performance Manager at the University of South Wales. Phillipa playing career has progressed and she is currently a member of the Celtic Dragons (now known as Cardiff Dragons) Squad. Phillipa got her first cap for Wales in 2022 and after a memorable win of 70-55 against Trinidad and Tobago, she was named ‘Player of the Match’. Phillipa now has 10 international caps.
Phillipa started playing netball at Wigmore Primary School in Leominster over ten years ago.
After graduating from Cardiff Met with a degree in sport, she worked as a PE teacher at Whitecross High School in Hereford, as a sport lecturer at Herefordshire, Ludlow and North Shropshire College, and as Netball Performance Manager at the University of South Wales.
Her netball career progressed from playing for ‘Hotshots’, in Shropshire through the various age categories, before graduating to Saracens U16s, followed by Cardiff Met, and the Premier Romans Team. In 2021 she was named in the Celtic Dragons (now known as Cardiff Dragons) Squad.
Phillipa got her first cap for Wales in 2022 playing in the Commonwealth Games in South Africa, and was voted ‘Dragon of the Season’ by her teammates and coaches. After a memorable win of 70-55 against Trinidad and Tobago, she was named ‘Player of the Match’. The Welsh Feathers went on to defeat Scotland, securing ninth place in the World Cup.
Phillipa now has 10 international caps.
